If You Listen, You Can Hear the Crickets

Cinematic Portraits of Traditional Musicians

These films will most essentially be, about the project of being a person, and

how and why we are inclined - or  driven - to pursue artistic practices.

The mission of this project is to cinematically celebrate and archive the traditional music practices of living musicians through filmmaking. We  are interested in the way filmmaking will lens relationships between; inherited repertoire, learning, community and expression, and in documenting and archiving traditional music in this day and age. Through this project we will explore the way that inherited expressive vernaculars are interpreted by living artists, and create a compelling cinematic reference for current and future generations.

We are interested in the intersection of

emulation and expression.
